User Interface Design
The goal in user interface design is user-friendliness, where an effective solution allows easy navigation and swift access to deep pockets of information.
To achieve a high level of user-friendliness, I visually chunk fields in a relevant, easy-to-understand way. In the final presentation, I aim for simple, non-intrusive color schemes, create a clear visual hierarchy, and utilize a strict grid to help users find their way around.

Drake University
The Drake University Creative Services department had a FileMaker database program that wasn't keeping up with an increasing office workload. To help alleviate the workload problem, I was brought in by DB Services to design a clear visual hierarchy and a clean, pleasing visual look-and-feel.
Working with DB Services and three members of the Drake team, we eliminated unused and/or duplicate fields and grouped the remaining visual elements into different chunks that made sense to the Drake team. I then took the architecture and designed the layouts for visual clarity, consistency, and a reflection of the Drake brand identity.

Turning Star
Turning Star is a company that sells fire retardant chemicals to a wide-range of industries. They needed their database UI to aid their navigation through thousands of clients, each with multiple fields for past orders, specific chemical mixes, and general client notes.
I worked alongside DB Services and the business owner to create a clear information hierarchy, consolidate and eliminate fields, and design a look-and-feel that reflects their brand.
