Logo & Identity Design
Whether an organization is non-profit, for-profit, or in an industry like show business, a brand identity must reflect the culture, values, and goals of an organization. To not do this is to risk losing your audience before even having a chance to say, “Hello.”
Bungalow 226
Bungalow 226 is a new skin care, nail salon, and art boutique in Fishers, Indiana. They were originally looking for a new website, but during initial research, it became apparent their core identity wasn't clearly defined.
After performing primary research on the Bungalow and its competitors, what stood out to me was the unique, laid-back, artsy vibe of Bungalow 226. It's very much a reflection of co-owner Melissa Held's artistic style.
Capitalizing on Ms. Held's artistic style and love of hand-lettering, I asked her to provide me with many samples of a hand-written "Bungalow 226". After many iterations, the final piece reflects the essence of Bungalow 226 while maintaining a clean quality that speaks appropriately to new and existing customers.

The Fine Foundation
The Fine Foundation is a philanthropic organization based in Pittsburgh, PA. They support projects and organizations in these four areas: 1) Local to Pittsburgh; 2) Jewish organizations; 3) Technology; and 4) The Arts.
The Fine Foundation wished to have an identity system with a timeless, less trendy quality—one that would last them for many years.
My solution used a square to represent their four areas of support, a black & white color palette, and the typeface Meta modified slightly to fit the aesthetic quality of a square. Inside the square, the letters “fi” are shorthand for fieri facias, a Latin term meaning, “You shall make happen.”

DB Services
DB Services is a database development & consulting firm company focused primarily on FileMaker database solutions. Needing a logo overhaul to reflect a modified business name, they sought a cleaner, more modern look.
A challenge to creating DB Services' logo was designing a logo that didn't visually tie DB Services' solely to FileMaker consulting, but to a broader software solutions company.
The final solution included two weights of Univers Condensed—a clean and modern sans serif typeface. The color palette is a deeper, richer version of DB Services’ previously existing color palette of yellow and blue.

Personal Identity – Figure-Ground Exercise
For this design school project, we were asked to create a figure-ground based mark based on our initials. Since my last name starts with a unique lettering combination that makes one sound, I used both the T and Z in the mark.
I started the project by finding existing typefaces that reflected my design sensibilities and modified it to make it work visually.
I chose Helvetica for this piece because it's clean, modern—common, yes—but retains a unique capacity to surprise you in its versatility and range.
